Technische Universität Darmstadt
The TU Darmstadt is one of the leading institutes of technology in Germany. About 300 professors, over 4,000 postgraduates and 26,000 students investigate key high-potential areas such as energy, mobility, communication and information as well as construction and architecture. The research team Theoretical Computer Science — Cryptography and Computer Algebra (CDC), led by Prof. Johannes Buchmann, is part of the Center for Advanced Security Research Darmstadt (CASED). The CDC team works in different fields of modern cryptography. A large part of the group is building and analysing cryptographic schemes that are secure in the presence of quantum computers that break the security of existing schemes like RSA. Lattice-based, code-based, hash-based and multivariate-based post-quantum cryptographic schemes are all part of the group's research focus. Projects in this area at TU Darmstadt are notably supported by the DFG, the Horst Görtz Foundation and the ISPRAT research cooperation.
genua mbh
genua is a German IT security specialist. Since our company was founded in 1992, we have been involved in securing networks and developing sophisticated solutions. Our business activities include firewalls certified to the international Common Criteria (CC) standard, high-security gateways and diodes for sensitive network interfaces, VPN and remote maintenance systems, mobile security solutions, and a wide range of services. Our solutions are developed and manufactured in Germany. Many companies and public authorities rely on solutions from genua to protect their IT.
In order to find good solutions, it often makes sense to combine differing skills, viewpoints and resources and for this reason genua participates in research projects. Here we work together with universities, research institutions and other organizations, in order to solve fundamental problems in IT security. We exchange know-how with others taking part and discuss the results obtained, with all parties profiting from the knowledge we gain. The sponsored projects therefore make a valuable contribution to knowledge transfer as well as strengthening the role of Germany as an economic and research center. Further information about the projects we participate in can be found on our website.
